He graduated from Shanghai University of Technology in 1986, majoring in Industrial and Business Management. Prior to joining Anglo Chinese in 2013, he was a director in corporate finance at Baring Brothers/ING Bank, Shanghai branch, and was closely involved in numerous merger and acquisition and equity capital market transactions in China both for foreign multinationals and local companies. He retired from Anglo Chinese in 2024 and became a Senior Adviser to the firm.
Previously, he worked with the China-Britain Trade Group’s Shanghai office as their Chief Representative. During 1986-1992, he was the purchasing production deputy manager of Shanghai Volkswagen.
Like many others, Jinyu learned to play the violin at an early age and his passion for music remains to this day.
