David graduated from Beijing Normal University in 1990 with a degree in Chinese with Economics.

Early in his career, he served with the British Embassy China in Hong Kong as First Secretary, Culture and Education. 

He began his career in investment banking with Schroders in Hong Kong before being recruited to establish and lead Houlihan Lokey in Asia. David also co-founded a cryptocurrency start-up and served as interim CEO for a troubled Indonesian mining company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. He joined Anglo Chinese in 2021 as a Senior Adviser with a particular emphasis on our liability management and financial restructuring practice in financially stressed situations whilst being active in capital raising and strategic advisory work.
